- Eat a wide range of health foods including plenty of fruits and vegetables to make sure you het all the vitamins and minerals necessary to keep your nails healthy.
- Protect you nails and hands by wearing the gloves when you do house work, gardening and any other form of manual work from hands.
- Avoid using nails to open soda cans, remove staples or do anything that might cause them to chip or break. Use tools instead of your nails.
- Trim you nails cutting straight across rather than into the corner. Then file using an emery board.
- Keep you hands and nails well moisturized.
- If you break or tear a nail, clip it and then use a file to smooth any rough edges.
- Manicure your nails more than once a week, either at home or at nails saloon. More frequent manicuring can weaken your nails.
- Never use metal file on you nails.
